Margaret Annya – Real Brides: Roberta

I had always imagined my bridal gown to be just like the costumes in old movies, inspired by 1940s Hollywood glamour. I wanted a big skirt, crinoline, veil, the whole lot. I unashamedly wanted to look like a cupcake.

However, after trying on numerous beautiful dresses in the London Bridal Shops, none of them jumped out as “the one” I was beginning to think I would never find my dress.

I started trawling the internet, looking for a designer that would be able to interpret my dream into a reality, then I found Margaret’s website, looking at all the different dresses she had made, sketches and testimonials. I got in touch, via e-mail, described my idea’s, within 24 hours, she had sent me about 6 sketches, and amongst them was my “ dress.”

I knew I was on to a winner, she invited me to her studio and we discussed final details for the dress, I decided on a blush pink crepe backed satin, tightly corseted featuring a slight bustle, train, ruching, embellished with roses.

She even came along on the day, to dress me, which was a lovely kind thought.

My day was wonderful, and I felt so happy and everyone commented how beautiful I looked in my wonderful dress.
