Real Brides: Michelle writes about Margaret Annya

I knew exactly how I wanted the back of my dress, I had had this idea for about 18 months, but despite scouring all the Bridal Shops in the West Midlands and even a couple of visits to London, nothing came anywhere near my dream, if I found a skirt similar to what I wanted ,I didn't like the bodice or the colour . Just when I thought I would have to settle for something completely different, a friend mentioned Margaret Annya, her exact words were “you tell her your ideas and she will create exactly what you want" I gave her a call she sounded friendly and very approachable, invited me to her Studio, After a chat & coffee, I was shown photographs of Bridal Gowns she had made, thank you letters and for the first time I began to think YES. I was going to get the Dress of my dreams.

I described what I wanted, she sat there patiently sketching, and there it was The idea I had in my head, was there on paper in front of me. After looking through her many samples of materials , I chose Ivory Silk Dupion. She also embroidered a number of samples for me to choose the type of embroidery I wanted. I eventually chose tiny gold glass beads and pearls sewn into little clusters onto the bodice. My completed dress was even more beautiful than even I could visualise, from the first visit to the last (in fact I shall miss my visits) it was exciting to see my dress created before my eyes

Margaret Annya is a brilliant designer and dressmaker, nothing is too much trouble and if a Bride wants a unique designer gown, I can thoroughly recommend her. Michelle x
